Mitsubishi recalled ASX vehicles. On a number of right hand drive vehicles it has been established that the electrical wiring harness to the power assisted steering control unit for the Electric Power Steering (EPS) has not been secured correctly. The recall notice describes the fix as: all affected vehicles will be recalled for the fitment of a modified bracket and securing clip. You won't usually pay for it.1
What’s Wrong
On a number of right hand drive vehicles it has been established that the electrical wiring harness to the power assisted steering control unit for the Electric Power Steering (EPS) has not been secured correctly. Vehicle vibration could cause a break in the connection between the harness and the control unit. Should this occur the EPS warning light will illuminate on the dash and the driver will experience heavier steering control although control of the vehicle is not lost.
