This list shows every UK car and light van safety recall registered with DVSA, newest first, and it is updated every week. So far in 2026 there have been 238 car and light van recalls. Check your registration to see whether any of them apply to your car.

These recalls were added to DVSA's list in the last seven days. Each row gives the make, the models, the fault in plain English, how serious it is and how many vehicles the manufacturer estimates are affected.

Severity labels are our reading of the recall text, not an official DVSA grading. A stop driving label appears only when the manufacturer's own wording tells owners not to use the vehicle. Open any reference for the full DVSA wording, the build dates covered and what to do next. Biggest Recalls Of 2026 So Far

The largest recalls of the year by vehicles affected are shown below, ranked by the manufacturer's estimate of vehicles in the UK.

Vehicle numbers are estimates supplied by manufacturers, and one car can appear in more than one recall, so the figures count vehicle-records rather than separate cars. Stop-drive Recalls On The List

Stop-drive recalls are rare. Only 24 car recalls in DVSA's data tell owners not to drive, 11 of them launched in 2025.
