Mitsubishi recalled ASX vehicles built between 6 April 2010 and 9 January 2014. Due to inappropriate water proof structure of the front deck water can ingress into the wiper motor. The dealer will check which type of breather cap is fitted and replace with new motor if the latest waterproof type is not fitted. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

Due to inappropriate water proof structure of the front deck water can ingress into the wiper motor. Water accumulated around the air breather hole might enter into the wiper motor when the motor is cooling down after operation. As a result the internal part of the front wiper motor may rust and seize In the worst case the wiper motor may not operate.
