Suzuki recalled Grand Vitara vehicles built between 28 June 2005 and 31 May 2008. Due to the use of an inappropriate material for the intercooler outlet pipe insulator it is possible for the intercooler outlet pipe insulation to detach from the throttle body. The dealer will replace the intercooler outlet pipe insulator with a quality assured component and bracket. You won't usually pay for it.1
What’s Wrong
Due to the use of an inappropriate material for the intercooler outlet pipe insulator it is possible for the intercooler outlet pipe insulation to detach from the throttle body. This may cause excessive deposition of carbon within the diesel particulate filter that may burn up and result in overheating or melting of the filter. In the worst case the filter may catch fire.
