Fiat recalled Ulysse vehicles built between 1 August 2002 and 31 December 2004. Due to the inlet filter for the exhaust gas recirculating valve (EGR) being in an exposed position there is a possibility of water entering the brake servo vacuum pipe. The dealer will check the EGR valve solenoids for the presence of separate air filters. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

Due to the inlet filter for the exhaust gas recirculating valve (EGR) being in an exposed position there is a possibility of water entering the brake servo vacuum pipe. This can give rise to the possibility of ice forming within the pipe during periods of low ambient temperature with the possibility of reduced brake servo assistance.

DVSA's Original Wording

Concern: BRAKE SERVO ASSISTANCE MAY BE REDUCED Defect: It has been identified that due to the inlet filter for the exhaust gas recirculating valve (EGR) being in an exposed position there is a possibility of water entering the brake servo vacuum pipe. This can give rise to the possibility of ice forming within the pipe during periods of low ambient temperature with the possibility of reduced brake servo assistance. Remedy: Recalled vehicles will have the EGR valve solenoids checked for the presence of separate air filters. If this is not the case new solenoids with separate filters will be fitted.
