Honda recalled Civic vehicles built between 27 November 2000 and 24 April 2001. The brake pedal lock pin which ensures a positive connection of the brake pedal to the braking system may be incorrectly installed. The dealer will check for correct installation of the lock pins. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

The brake pedal lock pin which ensures a positive connection of the brake pedal to the braking system may be incorrectly installed. In such cases it is possible that excessive free play in the brake pedal can occur leading to incorrect brake pedal operation. The clutch may also be similarly affected.
