Honda Civic Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Honda Civic has 42 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 5 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve airbags and other airbag inflators. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

For older Honda Civics, the Takata airbag recalls are what matter. Honda ran several large recalls for driver's and passenger airbag inflators that could rupture, including R/2016/045 (252,174 vehicle-records across the Civic, CR-V, FR-V, Jazz and Legend), R/2015/104 and R/2019/243. If you own a Civic from the 2000s, check the registration even if you think the work was done, as later recalls extended earlier ones; see Takata airbag recalls. Newer Civics have different recalls. R/2020/186 replaced fuel pumps that could fail and stall the engine, R/2025/024 fixed electric power steering gearboxes on hybrid Civics and the Type R, and R/2024/476 a high-pressure fuel pump part on the e:HEV. In 2026 R/2026/025 recalled 46,152 Civics fitted with accessory wheels missing steel bushes, which could let wheel nuts loosen. Civic recalls tend to arrive years after build. Any Honda dealer can check your VIN.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
