Honda recalled Jazz vehicles built between 17 May 2004 and 19 December 2005. The handbrake lever ratchet may not latch into position when the handbrake is applied due to the possibility of the internal push rod possibly having suffered damage during assembly. The dealer will replace the handbrake mechanism. You won't usually pay for it.1
What’s Wrong
The handbrake lever ratchet may not latch into position when the handbrake is applied due to the possibility of the internal push rod possibly having suffered damage during assembly. With continued usage the push rod joint can become worn causing the handbrake ratchet mechanism not to latch sufficiently. Should this occur the handbrake will become inoperative.
