Mazda MX5 Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Mazda MX5 has 9 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 4 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve fire risk and fuel leaks. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The current Mazda MX-5, on sale since 2015, has had its most important recall recently. R/2025/442 covers 6,013 MX-5s for a fuel pipe concern; a fuel leak carries a fire risk, so if you smell fuel, don't start the car and call the dealer. See fuel leak recalls. The MX-5 also shares the low-pressure fuel pump recall with other Mazdas (R/2021/435), which could stall the engine. Other recent recalls are smaller: a traction and stability warning light that might not come on (R/2025/202), parking assist software (R/2025/043) and an undershield bracket that could come loose (R/2019/265). MX-5 recalls tend to arrive several years after the cars are built, and many MX-5s are used mainly in summer, so check before the first drive of the season. Older MX-5s from the 2000s had a fog lamp recall (R/2003/099). Any Mazda dealer can confirm by VIN.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
