Mazda MAZDA2 Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Mazda MAZDA2 has 11 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 2 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve fuel leaks and software. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The Mazda2 recall that matters most is R/2018/319, which replaced Takata passenger airbag inflators that might not work as intended, covering 89,746 vehicle-records. Many Mazda2s from that period are now with second or third owners, so check the registration even if you think the work was done; see Takata airbag recalls. Other Mazda2 recalls include a handbrake that could release unexpectedly (R/2018/017), engine software that could make the engine fail (R/2018/087) and fuel leaks on older cars. Since 2020 the Mazda2 has had just two recalls: the low-pressure fuel pump recall shared with the CX-3, CX-5, Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 (R/2021/435), which could stall the engine, and a 2025 instrument cluster reprogramming on the Mazda2 Hybrid (R/2025/316), which is built by Toyota and shares its recalls with the Yaris. Any Mazda dealer can confirm by VIN.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
