Mercedes-Benz recalled A Class, B Class, C Class and 3 more vehicles built between 1 November 2011 and 31 July 2017. The steering airbag electrical components are insufficiently grounded. The recall notice describes the fix as: the manufacturer will fit a contact bridge to the outer race of the steering column top bearing which will provide correct grounding. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

The steering airbag electrical components are insufficiently grounded. Failure of the steering column module clock spring could result in an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag which may cause risk of injury to the driver and an increased risk of a potential collision.
