Airbags are the main recall issue for the SEAT Leon, and one recall carries stop-drive wording. R/2025/348 tells owners of some older Leon, Alhambra, Altea and Exeo models with Takata front airbags not to drive until the airbag is replaced; if you own a Leon from the 2000s, check the registration today. See do not drive recalls. Larger airbag recalls replaced the driver's front airbag on the Leon and other SEATs (R/2023/273, 52,322 vehicle-records, and R/2024/160). The latest Leon, on sale since 2020, shares an airbag control unit wiring harness recall with the Formentor (R/2022/185), and plug-in hybrid e-Hybrid models have their own battery recalls. Older Leons also had an ABS and stability control recall (R/2017/216) and a turn signal fault shared with the Ateca (R/2019/356). Leon recalls tend to arrive about two years after build. Any SEAT dealer can confirm by VIN.
Leon Recalls By Year And Build Date
Each recall covers Leons built between certain dates. Find your car's build date on the V5C or ask a SEAT dealer, then match it below.
Build dates come from DVSA's Build Start and Build End fields. A car built inside the range may be included, and SEAT confirms by VIN. See where to find your VIN.
The Leon Recalls That Matter Most
Front driver airbag replacement (R/2023/273) is the largest Leon recall, covering about 52,322 vehicle-records. One Leon recall told owners not to drive until the repair was done.
We also explain recalls for the SEAT Arona and Ibiza. Every other SEAT model is covered on the SEAT recalls page, and the list of makes covers every other brand.
