Toyota recalled Yaris vehicles built between 13 June 2005 and 17 April 2007. The possibility exists that the sound insulator beneath the front seatbelt pretensioner may become damaged by the high temperature gas generated when the device is activated during a collision. The recall notice describes the fix as: recalled vehicles will have the sound insulator removed from beneath the centre body pillars. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

The possibility exists that the sound insulator beneath the front seatbelt pretensioner may become damaged by the high temperature gas generated when the device is activated during a collision. In the worst case should the insulator ignite a post-collision fire may ensue.
