The Vauxhall Zafira B's heater blower fire risk is one of the best-known recall stories in the UK, and many owners have had "the fix" more than once. The first recall, R/2015/245, replaced the heater blower resistor on 234,921 vehicle-records. DVSA then told Vauxhall a second recall was needed, and R/2016/104 fitted a new blower motor to cars with manual heating controls built from February 2005 to October 2014.2 Further recalls followed for the blower motor regulator (R/2018/214) and the fan resistor wiring connector (R/2019/082). About 92,000 Zafiras first used from 2005 to 2014 are still licensed, many with second or third owners.3 If your heater fan works only on some speeds or you smell burning, stop using the fan and get it checked. The later Zafira C is in Vauxhall's 2025 Takata driver's airbag recall (R/2025/511). See fire risk recalls.

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.4 See car recall symptoms.

- Zafira B: DVSA told Vauxhall a secondary recall (R/2016/104) was needed for Zafira B with manual heating/ventilation controls built 10/02/2005 to 24/10/2014, to receive a new heater blower motor. No extension to automatic climate control. DVSA kept investigating thermal incidents after both recalls (2017).
