Volkswagen recalled Transporter T7 vehicles built between 16 July 2026 and 11 September 2026. Applying excess pressure to open the rear lid to its end position may cause the upper ball socket to detach from the gas strut allowing the rear lid to fall without restraint as one gas strut alone cannot hold it open. The dealer will check the gas struts of the rear lid and if necessary replaced. You won't usually pay for it.1
What’s Wrong
