Every UK Car Recall In 2026, With The Biggest Recalls And The Most Common Faults

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

DVSA's data lists 238 car and light van recalls launched in 2026, covering about 1,677,572 vehicle-records. That compares with 375 in 2025. This list is updated as new recalls are added.

So far in 2026 DVSA has listed 238 car and light van recalls. The largest UK recall of the year is BMW's R/2025/327, launched in January, which replaces the Takata driver's airbag on 370,257 vehicle-records. Land Rover recalled 151,632 Defender, Discovery and Range Rover vehicle-records because the driver's airbag might not deploy (R/2026/245), and Ford recalled 147,340 Transit and Transit Custom vans for 12-volt batteries that could vent gas (R/2026/018). Stellantis's mild hybrid recall for the 48-volt starter-generator cover reached Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall, DS, Jeep and Alfa Romeo models, and several motorhome converters recalled rear-seat ISOFIX fittings. A few US-import pick-up and SUV recalls in the file list UK numbers that are not plausible, so we leave them out of the totals. This summary is updated monthly.
