Audi recalled A4 vehicles built between 1 November 1994 and 31 December 1994. Size 288mm x 15mm solid front brake discs may have been fitted instead of 288mm x 25mm ventilated discs. The recall notice describes the fix as: examine the front brake discs on all potentially affected vehicles and rectify where found necessary. You won't usually pay for it.1
What’s Wrong
Size 288mm x 15mm solid front brake discs may have been fitted instead of 288mm x 25mm ventilated discs. Because of the extra clearance required for the ventilated diisc a brake pad could fall out of the caliper as the pads wear down.
