Kia Niro Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Kia Niro has 6 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 4 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve fire risk and loss of power. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The Kia Niro's largest recall is R/2025/059, which replaces a fuse in the hydraulic control unit for the ABS and stability control, covering 51,667 vehicle-records. In some cars the unit could short circuit and, in rare cases, cause a fire, so follow any parking advice in your letter until the fuse is replaced. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid Niros from the first generation had earlier recalls for main relays that could overheat (R/2019/167) and a clutch actuator that could be damaged by burrs (R/2018/207), both of which could cause a loss of power; see loss of power recalls. The electric e-Niro shared a coolant leak recall for its power control unit with the Soul EV (R/2023/121), and the second-generation Niro shared driveshaft and drive unit recalls with the EV6 and EV9. Any Kia dealer can confirm by VIN which apply to your car.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
