Porsche recalled 918 Spyder vehicles built between 9 July 2013 and 27 July 2015. Internal tests have shown that the longitudinal and transverse control arms installed on the affected vehicles may be prone to corrosion. The recall notice describes the fix as: the affected components on the vehicles will therefore be replaced by components made of more robust material. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

Internal tests have shown that the longitudinal and transverse control arms installed on the affected vehicles may be prone to corrosion. The durability of these components cannot therefore be unequivocally guaranteed. f the fastening bolts on the longitudinal and transverse control arms crack due to corrosion vehicle handling in extreme situations e.g. during race track driving may be restricted and this can increase the risk of an accident.
