Volvo recalled S60, S80, V70 and 2 more vehicles. An electrical short circuit within a connector could result in the illumination of the Airbag System Service Required message and Supplemental Restraint System warning lamp on the dashboard. The dealer will check and rework the connector. You won't usually pay for it.1

What’s Wrong

An electrical short circuit within a connector could result in the illumination of the Airbag System Service Required message and Supplemental Restraint System warning lamp on the dashboard. Should this occur the driver's airbag would not deploy as intended if the vehicle is involved in a collision.

DVSA's Original Wording

Concern: AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AS INTENDED. Defect: It is possible that an electrical short circuit within a connector could result in the illumination of the Airbag System Service Required message and Supplemental Restraint System warning lamp on the dashboard. Should this occur the driver's airbag would not deploy as intended if the vehicle is involved in a collision. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to check and rework the connector.

The Risk
