Volvo XC60 Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Volvo XC60 has 53 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 15 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve loss of power and software. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The Volvo XC60 recall most likely to matter is R/2020/192, which replaced a steel cable holding the front seat belt buckle on first-generation XC60s and other Volvos because it could fatigue and break, covering 170,160 vehicle-records. It is the largest seat belt recall in DVSA's data, so check the registration of any XC60 built before 2017; see seat belt recalls. The same year brought R/2020/210, which removed trapped air from the cooling system on many models, and R/2020/073, a software update for automatic emergency braking. XC60s from 2017 also had a front wiper arm nut recall (R/2020/246). Plug-in hybrid XC60s have had battery cell module recalls (R/2025/117), and 2024 and 2025 body control module software recalls reached several models. Loss of power is the most common type of XC60 recall overall. Any Volvo retailer can confirm by VIN which apply.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
