Ford recalled Transit Custom vehicles built between 15 September 2023 and 9 April 2025. In the event of a crash that triggers the passenger airbag the inflator tube may rupture. The dealer will replace the passenger airbag. You won't usually pay for it.1

In the event of a crash that triggers the passenger airbag the inflator tube may rupture. The rupture can result in metal fragmentation damage to the airbag cushion complete loss of airbag functionality and an increased risk of injury or death.

Concern: 25S51 Transit Custom - Passenger airbag replacement required Defect: On affected vehicles in the event of a crash that triggers the passenger airbag the inflator tube may rupture. The rupture can result in metal fragmentation damage to the airbag cushion complete loss of airbag functionality and an increased risk of injury or death. Remedy: Replace the passenger airbag.
