Tesla Model Y Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Tesla Model Y has 7 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 7 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve software and suspension. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The Tesla Model Y shares its two largest recalls with the Model 3, and both are software updates sent over the air. R/2025/104 updated the power steering software on 97,462 Model 3 and Model Y vehicle-records, and R/2025/002 corrected tyre pressure warning behaviour on 62,893. Accept updates when the car asks, and check the recall shows as complete in the app. Model Y-only recalls have been smaller, including a 2025 firmware update for the anti-pinch feature on the right front window (R/2025/350), which matters if children use the front seat, and a reverse light recall on a couple of cars (R/2025/422). Early cars had a front suspension lateral link that might not be tightened correctly (R/2022/006), which needed a service visit. The Model Y is one of the UK's best-selling electric cars, so many are now sold used; ask for the recall history before buying. See software recalls.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.
