Citroën Berlingo Recalls In The UK: Every Safety Recall By Year And Build Date, And What To Do

Recall data from DVSA, updated 15 October 2026.

The Citroën Berlingo has 45 UK safety recalls in DVSA records, 20 of them since 2020. The most common faults involve wheels and tyres and brakes. Enter your registration to see which apply to your car; you won't usually pay for a recall repair.1

The Citroën Berlingo is sold as a van and as a family car, and both versions share most recalls. The one that matters most for owners of 2018-on diesel Berlingos is R/2025/247, which replaces the camshaft chain on DV5R engines across several Citroën models, covering 47,693 vehicle-records. Petrol Berlingos with the 1.2 PureTech engine were part of the brake vacuum pump recalls for timing belt debris (R/2020/327 and R/2023/036); see PureTech recalls. In 2025 R/2025/346 corrected on-board diagnostics for emissions, and 2026 brought several smaller software recalls for the body control module and a water pump pulley recall shared with the Dispatch. The oldest Berlingos had the largest recall of all, for suspension springs that could break (R/2005/095). Berlingo problems tend to be found quickly after launch, so newer vans should be checked every few months. Fleet owners can use our van recalls bulk checker.

The Berlingo Recalls That Matter Most

Suspension springs may break (R/2005/095) is the largest Berlingo recall, covering about 163,446 vehicle-records.

What You Might Notice

Many recall faults give no warning at all, so a registration check is the only reliable way to know.2 See car recall symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Know If My Berlingo Has Been Fixed?

Ask a Citroën dealer or Citroën's helpline for the recall history on your VIN. See how to get a Citroën recall fixed.

Is The Berlingo Reliable?

Recalls show faults the maker has agreed to fix, not how often cars break down. Compare models on our compare page.

I'm Buying A Used Berlingo. What Should I Check?

Run the registration, ask for proof of completed recalls and confirm by VIN. See buying a used car with an outstanding recall.
